The acronym OEM means “Original Equipment Manufacturer,” a term used when a company makes a part or subsystem used in another company’s final product. The term is used in various ways, each of which is clear in context. The importance of OEM is enormous, as it considerably reduces your company’s cost.
With a third-party manufacturer, companies don’t need to build manufacturing facilities or handle the production of their products in-house, allowing them to focus on the core competencies of their business. In that case, they simply integrate parts manufactured by an OEM service provider into their system and sell them under their brand name.

There are also Turnkey contract models, where the manufacturer is even more responsible for the production process of assembling electronic boards and products: from the search and purchase of components and inputs, passing through the assembly of parts of the final product, their integration with the product and the final tests that guarantee its perfect operation.
In this business model, the manufacturer also operates in the development of suppliers and inventory management of electronic components and tools for assembly, in addition to the assembly of electronic boards, functional tests, recordings, mechanical assembly, and final product testing.
